Minutes Board Meeting
6:00 pm Monday, June 27, 2011

1. In attendance:
- Terry Johnson

2. Approval of minutes.
- Ellen moved to approve the May 23 Foundation minutes and Terry seconded the motion. Minutes were approved.
3. The Treasurer's Report was discussed and filed.
- Jim reviewed the Treasurer’s Report and it was filed.
4. Street Fair:
- Excellent volunteers, (extra help from Jim’s daughter and 2 workers from his business to set up and take down and help run the booth was greatly appreciated.)
- The wheel to spin and prizes given drew many people to the booth.
- It was agreed that we would do something similar next year.
5. Nomination slate for Officers of the Foundation for next year:
The following slate of officers for next year has been nominated and will be voted on at the August 22, 2011 meeting.
- President: Mike Clinkenbeard
- Vice President: Joe Spencer
- Secretary: Betty Vega
- Treasurer: Jim Panknin
- Historian & Photographer: Terry Johnson
- Additional Board Members have been nominated for the new year: John Olson, Joe Spencer, They will be voted on also.
6. Membership Drive:
- Reward Luncheons: Sycamore Canyon staff had 90% join the Foundation and Pepper Drive had 100%. Lunch was provided to both schools. The Sandwich Bag Restaurant in Santee provided the food for a very generous discount. Both staffs appreciated the luncheons. An article and pictures will be posted on our website.
- District wide new membership was 157.
- Betty and Terry will be sending new member letters to all who joined in the district and they will be invited to attend our monthly meetings and help with future activities.
- A new database of members will be completed for the meeting in August.
7. Golf Tournament:
- Everything is set for the Tournament. We will review everything at the August meeting.
8. Foundation Banner for Bridge:
- Foundation Banners for the Bridge on Cuyamaca and Mission Gorge are completed and displayed.
9. Fund Raiser:
- Stuff the Turkey Money raised from this event will be used for books for each school.
- Each school will receive a water bottle and the art departments will decorate it to look like a turkey.
10. Round Table:
- We discussed sending out an application to parents for Foundation membership in the fall when we send home the Mom’Guide and the pencil pouches.
- Normally we do not meet in July, but we discussed the need for a special meeting to review the budget for next year, plan the distribution of the Mom’s Guide, application for membership for the parents and the pencil pouches, and plan specific procedures for the Stuff the Turkey Fundraiser.
- The meeting will be held on July 25 at 6:00 at Michael’s Grill in the Von’s shopping Center.
